Introduction
CatholicMassStreams ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit our Catholic church directory website.
Important: CatholicMassStreams does not store any user data or require user accounts. We are a static directory website displaying publicly available church information. Data about your visit is collected by the third-party services described below: Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Microsoft Clarity and Sentry. Like any website, requests from your browser (including your IP address) also reach the services that deliver the site and its content: Cloudflare (hosting and privacy-focused web analytics), OpenStreetMap (map tiles) and Wikimedia Commons (church photos).

Third-Party Services
Google Services
We use Google Analytics and Google AdSense, which may collect and process data about your visit:
- Google Analytics: Analyzes website traffic and user behavior
- Google AdSense: Displays personalized advertisements
Google and its advertising partners (the ad technology providers listed in the consent message described below) may use cookies to serve and measure ads. Google may combine data from our site with data from other sources. For more information, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google's Privacy Policy.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site (for example, where people click and scroll) so we can improve it. Clarity records interactions and technical information about your device and browser. In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it only uses cookies for this if you consent. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Sentry
We use Sentry to detect and fix errors and performance problems on the site. When something goes wrong in your browser, technical details about the error, your browser and the page are sent to Sentry. Sentry also receives performance measurements for a sample of page loads and, only for visits where an error occurs, a session replay recording (a reconstruction of the page and your interactions, with all text masked). See the Sentry Privacy Policy.
Cookies and Tracking
Types of Cookies We Use
- Essential Cookies: Required for basic site functionality
- Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how you use our site
- Advertising Cookies: Used to display relevant advertisements
Your Cookie Choices
If you visit from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK) or Switzerland, a consent message from Google (a Google-certified consent management platform) asks for your choices before cookies are used for personalised advertising and analytics. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with the Privacy and cookie settings link that Google adds at the bottom of any other page on this site — for example, the home page.
Wherever you are, you can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.
Saved Churches (Local Storage)
When you save a church with the heart button, your list of favorites is stored only in your browser's local storage on your device — it is never sent to our servers and contains no personal information. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Data Sharing
We may share your information with:
- Service Providers: Google (Analytics, AdSense) and its advertising partners, Microsoft (Clarity), Sentry (error monitoring), hosting providers
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
- Business Transfers: In connection with mergers or acquisitions
We do not sell personal data for money. Google's advertising on this site may use cookies to personalise ads, which some US state laws treat as 'selling' or 'sharing' personal information. You can opt out at any time using the link Google shows at the bottom of our other pages ('Privacy and cookie settings', or 'Do not sell or share my personal information' in some US states).
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you're in the EU, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification: Correct inaccurate personal data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
- Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
- Object: Object to processing for direct marketing
- Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for cookie processing at any time, using the Privacy and cookie settings link at the bottom of the site's pages
Note: Since we don't require user accounts or store user data, we cannot identify specific individuals in our analytics data. If you contact us directly via email, we can process rights requests for that correspondence.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Data Retention
- Analytics Data: Retained by Google according to their retention policies
- Church Directory Data: Publicly available information retained indefinitely unless removal is requested by the church
International Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the EU/EEA, including the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
